Cheap Slimming Pills – Do They Really Work?

The allure of cheap slimming pills is undeniable. A product that claims to help you lose weight, burn more fat, and have more energy… and it’s in pill form?

It is understandable that there is a lot of appeal in that idea, particularly in the current climate of mainstream medicine where we are so used to taking so many pills for a variety of purposes daily.

We have pills for kidney health, depression, acne, memory boosting, gout, hair growth, any number of hormonal purposes, and just about every health condition or concern out there.

A pill for quick weight loss just makes sense to us intuitively. Slimming pills pass the “common sense” test for many of us.

On the other hand, you’ve probably heard about the scary health risks of diet pills, including heart attack and death for some of them. Several diet pills have been banned due to their risk, often long after many people suffered and died just trying to lose a little weight.

Many of us probably look at these stories as a meaningful warning against cheap slimming pills, choosing to be safe rather than sorry. You can bet that if given a second chance, dieters who died using (or abusing) cheap slimming pills would never take even one.

In reality, the truth lays somewhere in between both extreme viewpoints.

Many cheap slimming pills on the market today are fairly safe if used as directed. Almost all of these diet pills even come with instructions that advise you to talk to your doctor first, so it’s hard to be caught unawares if you are doing your due diligence as a consumer.

Slimming pills can cause irritability, anxiety, high blood pressure, dizziness, headaches, constipation and other digestive tract disturbances, hormonal imbalances, profuse sweating, and in rarer cases, stroke or heart attack.

The health risks of diet pills are obviously increased for children, the elderly, and people with certain conditions like pre-existing heart problems, diabetes, or eating disorders.

The ingredient doing most of the work in a diet pill is almost always the stimulant(s). Cheap slimming pills are loaded with caffeine, guarana, and a whole host of natural and synthetic additives designed to stimulate your body and get the adrenaline going.

This can help you lose weight by making you feel more energized and active, which could, in turn, encourage you to do more activities and exercise in the day. But the pill itself will not make you lose extra weight or burn extra fat.

Stimulants are not the best way to feel energized, but we do tolerate it culturally in our coffees and sodas, so it’s not unusually unhealthy. But taken in huge amounts it can be very dangerous.

Find out the amount of caffeine contained in your diet pill and then imagine casually chugging enough coffee to get all of that caffeine — there’s no way you’d think that downing a whole gallon of coffee is acceptable, but in pill form it’s easier to rationalize.

Other ingredients in diet pills are often said to be metabolism stimulators, appetite suppressants, fat burners, or any number of other gimmicky claims. For the most part, it’s unproven and it’s often untrue.

There are herbs, spices, and foods that can act as metabolism stimulators and appetite suppressants, but getting them in their natural forms, without the overdose of caffeine, is a far superior choice than most cheap slimming pills.

The bottom line is that cheap slimming pills are not the miracle quick-fix that all of us are searching for. There is no pill we can take that will let us eat whatever we want all the time with no consequences. It just doesn’t exist!

Following balanced, low fat diet plans and concentrating on portion control are far more successful ways of losing weight.
